Justin Timberlake has shared a cover of TLC’s ‘90s smash No Scrubs straight from the recording studio.
Justin Timberlake has shared a studio cover of TLC‘s classic hit ‘No Scrubs’ – you can watch it below.
The tune was released as the lead single from TLC’s third album ‘Fanmail’ and earned the group a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
Taking to Instagram, Justin shared a clip of his own take on the tune with singer-songwriter Ant Clemons.
In the footage, the pair sing along to the tune while pop producer Angel Lopez strums his guitar in the background. Timbaland is also in the room, staring at his computer screen.
“Yo, that song is still dope,” Justin tells Ant, as they wrap the impromptu performance.
He also shared his love for the classic track in the caption of the post, simply writing: “Still hits.”
Justin’s studio session comes after he recently paid tribute to backing vocalist Nicole Hurst, a member of the Tennessee Kids, who passed away aged 39.
“We lost a beautiful soul this week. Nicole lit up every room she walked into. On and off the stage she was a constant source of joy and positivity,” he penned.
“Nicole, it’s not enough to say that I am going to miss you dearly. Thank you for your light. I will do my best to carry that with me. I love you, my sister. Forever family and forever a TN Kid. [sic]”
