U2 have released a new version of their classic hit single Beautiful Day.
Originally released back in 2000, the song is the latest to be lifted from the 40-track ‘Songs of Surrender’, featuring reworked and reimagined recordings from their catalogue.
The bumper collection clocks in at four discs – one named after each of U2’s four members: Bono, Larry Mullen, Adam Clayton and The Edge.
All are curated and produced by The Edge, who says: “Hearing the songs interact, and finding the running orders for the four albums was really thrilling; finding the surprising segues, getting a chance to DJ.
“Once we had four distinct albums it was easy to see who would be the figurehead for each one.”
‘Songs of Surrender’ is out March 17 via Island and available to pre-order now.
