U2 are back with ‘Street Of Dreams’ – the first single from the band’s upcoming 15th studio album.
The group first treated fans to a preview of the track while shooting its accompanying video in Mexico City, where they played it from the roof of a bus.
“Hopped a bus in Mexico City, destination: Street of Dreams,” they captioned footage shared on social media. “Justice an obsession, love is procession down the street of dreams.”
They later revealed the shoot was thrown into disarray when heavy rain and thunder “crashed the generator”, after which a “bewildered but welcoming neighbour” helped the band lead singalongs of ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Desire’ for fans from their balcony while they waited for work to recommence.
Now, the track has been released, with Bono singing ‘La calle, calle de los sueños / All the doors are open on the street of dreams’ over The Edge’s signature guitar licks, with the music video documenting the real-life events that occurred during the shoot.
