U2 debuted their brand new song, Atomic City, during a pop-up performance and music video shoot in Las Vegas.
The group premiered the song on Saturday (September 16) night, with the track expected to be released alongside the launch of the band’s residency show at the MSG Sphere at the Venetian later this month.
During the shoot, Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. performed on a flatbed truck moving through Fremont Street in downtown Vegas, close to where the band shot the music video for 1987’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
According to reports, Bono told the crowd the track was inspired by “late ’70s post-punk”.
The band’s ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere’ shows will debut September 29 and play through December 16.
