Toyah and her King Crimson guitarist husband Robert Fripp have shared an impressive cover of Metallica‘s Enter Sandman.
The husband-and-wife duo returned over the weekend for the latest instalment of their Sunday Lunch video series on YouTube, which has seen them deliver new versions of classics by Nirvana, David Bowie and Sex Pistols.
On Sunday, January 10th, they uploaded their latest clip, which sees Fripp play the iconic Enter Sandman guitar riff as the I Want to Be Free star provides vocals while riding an exercise bike.
“Happy lockdown lunch, everybody!” she shouts at the end of the unusual clip.
The clip proved to be a viral hit and was applauded by viewers, who thanked the couple for keeping fans entertained during lockdown.
“She was a babe in the ’80s and she’s a babe now,” wrote one subscriber.
Another laughed: “I think everyone is losing the plot with lockdown.”
“This channel is by far the most entertaining thing on YT these days – absolutely, certifiably nuts,” penned a third.
Toyah hit screens last year as she appeared on the line-up of Mike Stock and Mike Read’s online music show That Was Then… This Is Now!, alongside classic acts including Cliff Richard, The Fizz, Paul Young, Limahl and Chesney Hawkes.
“It looks like Top of the Pops,” Read tells Retro Pop. “It’s got the feel, the lighting, the sound, the choreography, the musicians. It looks really, really good.”
Season one aired in 2020.
