Tony Hadley has made amends with Spandau Ballet bandmate Steve Norman after attending his mother’s funeral
The fall-out with Norman, John Keeble and Gary and Martin Kemp led to him quitting the band back in 2017 but, speaking on his Stars Cars Guitars podcast, Tony reveals he’s mended his rift with saxophonist Norman.
“We were always great pals. His mum Sheila was my mum’s best pal for many, many, many years,” Tony says. “Me and Steve have touched base and I went to the funeral to pay my respects. You know, there’s a deep friendship there.
“It was nice and I think Steve feels as aggrieved as I do about circumstances with the band.”

Hadley was replaced by Ross William Wild following his departure from the band – but his tenure with Spandau was short-lived and they eventually called it a day in 2019.
Gary Kemp has previously said that the door is always open for the former frontman to return, but Hadley has insisted he’ll never go back, admitting he’d “rather be happy on my own than be in that band again”.
