Tom Chaplin will release his latest solo album ‘Midpoint’ later this year.

The Keane frontman’s new LP began two years ago when the group’s ‘Cause and Effect’ tour was interrupted by the pandemic.

The songs, all founded on reflection and imagination, were recorded in six weeks, building on the emotional warmth of his 2016 debut ‘The Wave’.

Getting back out on the road with a UK tour in October! I’d love to see you there. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 15th July 10am BST, you can gain access to my pre-sale starting Wednesday 13th July 10am BST by pre-ordering my album from my official store. pic.twitter.com/x0RCJSZS4B

“I was like, wow, these are bare compared to what I’m used to,” Tom admits. “And it did find it frightening because with Keane records there’s so much layering to thicken things up and fill up the spaces. But this is a sparse record.”

He adds: “There’s space for something nuanced that explores a part of life that everyone goes through.

“If I can get some of that across and it can resonate with something people are feeling in their lives – well, I’d be more than happy with that.”

It’s lead single and title track is out now.

In support of the album, Tom will hit the road with a UK tour this autumn, beginning October 6 at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall and finishing up at the London Palladium October 22. Tickets go on sale July 15.

‘Midpoint’ is out September 2 and available to pre-order now.
