The Ting Tings are back with their first new album in six years.
Due June 6, the new LP is a follow-up to the duo’s 2018 record, ‘The Black Light’, and the re-imagined ‘Manchester Version’, which arrived the following year.
Inspired by the West Coast of the ‘70s, the album nods to the era in both the harmonies and arrangements, according to a press release, along with references to Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Dire Straits, Joni Mitchell and Eagles.
“Having continuously moved around during album cycles from the UK to Los Angeles to Berlin, De Martino and White found Ibiza as their home and have now lived there for many years,” reads a new description.
“After having their daughter during the pandemic, they sought succour in the foundational musical touchstones of their childhoods. As a band that has always self-written and produced they walked into their home studio, and asked themselves a simple question? In this new world of profound uncertainty, what felt good?
“The resulting songs are on the new album, ‘Home’.”
Alongside the album announcement, The Ting Tings have released lead single Good People Do Bad Things, which is out now.
‘Home’ is out June 6 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
