The Fizz are ripping off their skirts for Europe once again for the upcoming Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light show.
Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan, and Jay Aston – along with ex-member Bobby G – won the 1981 edition of the contest with Making Your Mind Up, and they’re recreating the iconic performance from their homes for the new show.
Jay told the Daily Mirror: “We will be doing a virtual live performance on the night from our living rooms.”
Assuring fans the all-important skirt-ripping moment, which the New Beginning stars credit for winning them the competition, will be included, she added: “There is a cue in the music so we won’t get that wrong! I still have so many skirts in my wardrobe with bits of Velcro on a virtual skirt rip is possible.”
During lockdown, Cheryl performed a solo, acoustic version of Making Your Mind Up along with her family at home.
The TV appearance comes after the release of The Fizz’s brilliant album Smoke & Mirrors, produced by Mike Stock, featuring the new single, From Here To Eternity.
