Tears For Fears have released the lead single from their first album in 17 years.
The group will release their long-awaited seventh album ‘The Tipping Point’ in February and, alongside an announcement of the project, they dropped its lead single.
Written by Roland Orzabal and guitarist, writer and producer Charlton Pettus, the track is filled to the brim with emotion.
Inspired by a personal tipping point in his own life, this song captures Orzabal’s grief of watching someone he loved lose their long-standing battle with disease.
“Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong,” he says of the project.
A poignant music video sees Orzabal and bandmate Curt Smith perform the track in a house thrown into chaos.
Last month, the band were honoured with the Outstanding Song Collection Award at the 2021 Ivor Novello Awards.
‘The Tipping Point’, due February 25, is available to pre-order on CD, Deluxe CD and vinyl. A Super Deluxe Edition CD is also available, along with signed CDs.
