Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ film has broken box office records before its release.
The upcoming film – which offers a “breathtaking, cinematic view” of the Cruel Summer singer’s latest tour – has already surpassed $100m (£82m) globally in advance ticket sales, ahead of its debut on Friday (October 13).
The total reflects all showtimes, locations and circuits that will be showing the movie, not just AMC, according to the distributor (via The Independent).
The film made $26m (£20.6m) in ticket revenue on its first day of pre-sales.
The release comes ahead of the superstar’s forthcoming UK and Europe shows, which will kick off on May 9 in Paris and wrap up on August 17 in London
A number of dates have been announced including stops in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Liverpool and London, where she will play six dates: June 21, 22 and 23, and August 15, 16 and 17.
The ongoing US leg of the ‘Eras Tour’ continues through North America until August 9, where it concludes with the final of six shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
From there, Taylor will head Down Under for five dates in Melbourne and Sydney before visiting Europe.
