Take That movie ‘Greatest Days’ has announced its cast ahead of filming this summer.
Based on the hit stage musical ‘The Band’, the film will feature music from Take That, such as Patience, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Shine and its namesake Greatest Day.
According to Deadline, the movie has set its cast and financiers ahead of shooting next month, with a planned 2023 release date.
The film’s boy band – modelled on the ‘90s five-piece – will comprise newcomers Aaron Bryan, Dalvin Cory, Joshua Jung, Mark Samaras and Mervin Noronha.
Also set to appear is Aisling Bea, Alice Lowe, Amaka Okafor, Jayde Adams, Marc Wootton, Lara McDonnell, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Nandi Hudson, Carragon Guest and Eliza Dobson.
The movie follows five best friends who have the night of their lives at a concert from their favourite boy band and, 25 years on, reunite to reminisce about their past.
Coky Giedroyc is directing the adaptation, which is written by Tim Firth, with Take That themselves also involved in the project. It’s been reported that the band is writing original songs for the film.
Take That formed as a five-piece in 1990, and enjoyed success for five years before Robbie quit the Could It Be Magic group to pursue a successful solo career.
They eventually disbanded in 1996 but, after the group reunited in 2005 as a four-piece, Robbie returned 16 years after his departure for their final LP as a five-piece, Progress, in 2010, and the Progress Live Tour, which wrapped in July, 2011.
Robbie and Jason subsequently departed and the group now performs with Gary, Mark and Howard.
Despite not being a full-time member of the band, Robbie has reunited with Take That on a number of occasions.
