Take That secretly got matching tattoos to celebrate signing their first record contract in 1990.
The boyband enjoyed a hugely successful career in the early 90s with hits including Relight My Fire, Back For Good and Pray, and Robbie Williams told the Daily Mirror they marked the beginning of their musical journey with some commemorative body art.
According to the hitmaker, the group signed the deal at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, with the record company keen for the boys to have a squeaky clean image. However, they soon made up for that with their NSFW inkings.
The Candy singer revealed: “We signed our first contract in St Paul’s Cathedral in 1990. It was the idea of the record company to make us look whiter than white, holier than thou.
“East 17 were the bad boys and then there was us. We were supposed to be very, very pure,” he added. “To mark the occasion, we all got St Paul’s Cathedral tattooed just below our left buttock. I think it’s touching. It’s lovely.
“We were young, we were daft, we were impressionable but we were in love.”
Robbie has more than 30 tattoos in total, and often shows them off with nude snaps on his Instagram page. Look close enough and you might just spot it…
