Sugababes have all but confirmed new music is imminent.
The reunited group, featuring the original line-up of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, recently celebrated 20 years of their debut album ‘One Touch’.
The set, featuring outtakes, demos, B-sides and remixes, charted at No. 18 – bettering the album’s original placement of 26 – and the trio have teased more tracks are on the way.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s Rylan on Saturday show, Keisha insisted she had been “sworn to secrecy” but hinted: “We’ve been buzzing ever since we got the album out […] and hopefully there’ll be some exciting news to share soon.”
While Keisha remained tight-lipped, she told Rylan: “When we come off the air, we’ll give you all the bits you need to know…”
It’s not the first time new music has been mentioned; celebrating the release of the LP, Siobhan suggested the girls are to hit the studio soon to lay down new tracks.
“There’s nothing concrete at the moment, but we are working on stuff all the time and definitely new music,” she smiled.
“We love making music together and that’s something we’re going to continue to do. And hopefully it won’t be too long now, now that we can be in the studio together again.”
New Sugababes music will be the first since the trio’s 2019 cover of Sweet Female Attitude’s Flowers.
Siobhan, Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena – the original Sugababes line-up – reunited in 2012, shortly after Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen called it quits.
They released the track Flatline under the moniker MKS, but plans for an album were shelved.
The 20th anniversary expanded edition is available on 2CD, limited Tri-Colour Vinyl and Gold Vinyl.
