Sugababes have confirmed new music is on the horizon.
The group is enjoying belated 20th anniversary celebrations with the reissue of debut album ‘One Touch’, featuring the hit singles Overload and Run for Cover.
Promoting the re-release of the LP, which also contains the hits Soul Sound and New Year, the trio opened up on the future of the group, including long-awaited new music.
Speaking with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2, singer Siobhan Donaghy said: “There’s nothing concrete at the moment, but we are working on stuff all the time and definitely new music.
“We love making music together and that’s something we’re going to continue to do. And hopefully it won’t be too long now, now that we can be in the studio together again.”
The girls were set to mark the anniversary last November, with new music and shows planned, but things fell through with the onset of Covid-19 – which made it “tricky” for them to reunite.
New Sugababes music will be the first since the trio’s 2019 cover of Sweet Female Attitude’s Flowers.
Siobhan, Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena – the original Sugababes line-up – reunited in 2012, shortly after Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen called it quits.
They released the track Flatline under the moniker MKS, but plans for an album were shelved.
The 20th anniversary expanded edition is available on 2CD, limited Tri-Colour Vinyl and Gold Vinyl.
