Stevie Nicks is set to team up with producer Greg Kurstin on a brand new project.
The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman collaborated with Greg last year on her epic single Show Them the Way, and the pair are set to hit the studio once again.
In a video clip congratulating the star, best known for his work with P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Sia and more, on his ASCAP Golden Note Award in May, she said: “I would like to thank you for the brilliant (I think) work that you did for me last year on a song that we did called Show Them the Way.
“I wrote it in 2008 and it was just a very difficult song to do – but you figured it out,” she continued. “You had Dave Stewart and Dave Grohl play on it, so we had a really rocking version, and then we also had an acoustic version.
“You are so able to go into the artist’s head and do what we want, but also throw your own thing in. And it makes such beautiful sense… there’s not that many people who do that.”
The Stand Back singer added: “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Take care, have a great evening, and I’ll see you in a couple of days because we’re working on something.
Stevie didn’t share any further details about the mystery project, but the news comes after the LA Times reported in 2020 that the singer was working on a new solo album and planned to spend the remainder of the pandemic turning the poetry from her journals into lyrics.
It comes after Neil Finn recently confirmed Fleetwood Mac had been discussing returning to the studio to work on new music before the pandemic hit.
“We had the idea of going into the studio with the band,” he teased. “Everyone was like, ‘It could be great!’”
Fleetwood Mac last released an album together – their 17th overall – in 2003 with ‘Say You Will’, featuring the singles Peacekeeper and Say You Will.
Since then, the group has focussed on touring, and briefly returned with a handful of tracks in 2013, including the single Sad Angel.
