Spice Girls look set to reunite once again to mark 30 years since the release of their debut single, Wannabe.
Released in 1996, the track took the group to the top of the UK charts and gave the five piece their global breakthrough, launching one of the most successful girl bands in music history.
Now, according to Melanie C – who appeared in the original line-up alongside, Geri Horner, Mel B, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton – they could come together next year for a global run of shows.
Speaking on The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma on Australia’s 2Day FM, Melanie explained: “It’s 30 years next year since the release of Wannabe. We have to do something special.
“Obviously I can’t say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour!”
It comes after Melanie recently touched on the group’s plans while speaking with Rebecca Judd on Apple Music 1, saying: “There has to be something befitting of 30 years since Wannabe.
“Once a Spice Girl, always a Spice Girl. We all feel like that, but we now are getting together because we know if we’re going to do anything, we have to start planning things to get things right.
“We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed.”
It’s unclear whether the reunion will see Victoria return to the fold, after the singer-turned-fashion designer opted out of their 2019 ‘Spice World’ UK tour.
