Sophie Ellis-Bextor is heading back to the dance floor as she starts working on new music.
The singer-songwriter is set to return to the UK charts with her 2001 classic Murder On The Dancefloor, thanks to its inclusion in ‘Saltburn’, on the back of which the song has become a global phenomenon.
Don’t you worry. Sophie’s been talking about this way before what’s happening with Murder.. weeks before Saltburn we’ve already had CD and RX in our house 😉 Bangers are incoming!

When a fan on X suggested it’s “time for Sophie to come back with disco dance and get all these people who now love Murder dancing”, her husband, The Feeling star Richard Jones, had some exciting news.
He teased: “Don’t you worry. Sophie’s been talking about this way before what’s happening with Murder.. weeks before Saltburn we’ve already had CD [Cathy Dennis] and RX [Richard X] in our house.
“Bangers are incoming!”
Dennis co-wrote Sophie’s 2007 single Catch You, while Richard collaborated with her on the 2011 single Starlight.
The classic pop anthem features in the final scene of the movie, in which actor Barry Keoghan is seen dancing in the nude to the song.
On the back of the film, the track has entered Spotify‘s global chart for the first time after clocking up over 1.43 million streams, and it now looks set to re-enter the UK Top 40 this week.
