Sophie Ellis-Bextor will see in the New Year with a special live show on the BBC.
The Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker will host her ‘New Year’s Eve Disco’ concert on December 31, with the headline performance set to air on BBC One and iPlayer.
“I always love a party, and I immediately think of sparkles, singing and dancing for a New Year’s Eve celebration and that’s what I’ll be bringing with me for my BBC One performance this New Year!” says the singer, who will release a new album in 2025.
“The band and I can’t wait, and we have some special surprises planned. I’m so honoured to have been asked to bid a fond farewell to 2024 with you all, and to welcome in an exciting 2025 together. Get your disco shoes ready! I’ll be wearing mine…”
According to a press release, the show will feature “hits” and “surprises”, along with “all-star guests” – details of which have yet to be confirmed.
“The festivities will continue after BBC One goes live to London for the traditional epic fireworks display,” it adds.
