Sophie Ellis-Bextor will make her performance debut on US TV on Monday (February 12) on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’.
With her 2001 classic, Murder On The Dancefloor, riding high on the Hot 100, following its appearance in ‘Saltburn’ – written, directed and produced by Emerald Fennell – the singer will promote the track with her first American TV gig.
“Omg it’s only Jimmy Fallon,” she wrote in a social media post. “So excited to be performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
“My first ever performance on US television – let’s have some fun and bring British eccentricity and murder on the dancefloor to NYC. Can’t wait!”
Following her trip Stateside, Sophie will return to the UK to perform the track at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on February 18 for the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards.
In response to its viral success, she’ll also reissue Murder On The Dancefloor on CD single and vinyl – the latter of which marks its debut on the format.
