Sophie Ellis-Bextor heads back to the dance floor on her new single Freedom Of The Night.
Marking her return to Universal on the Decca label, the track sees the British pop star return to the disco-pop sound that characterised her early career on hits like Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me), Get Over You and the mighty Murder On The Dancefloor.
“I have always been someone that needs music to help me recalibrate and Freedom Of The Night is all about that feeling,” says Sophie of the new song. “Music as a form of release and a little bit of hedonism.
“I’ve always needed that energy in my life, and I know I’m not alone. As the song says, sometimes you need to give in to what you want.”
