Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back in the UK Top 10 with her seventh album, ‘HANA’.
The LP – featuring the singles Breaking The Circle and Lost In The Sunshine – enters the charts at No. 8, becoming her first Top 10 studio record since 2014’s ‘Wanderlust’.
“I can’t actually believe it. It’s my fourth UK Top 10 album. I’m blown away,” says Sophie. “I had no expectations with this one except that I knew it was the album I needed to make, so it’s felt completely special that it’s been so warmly received.”
Sophie’s first and third albums, ‘Read My Lips’ (2002) and ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’ (2007), both charted in the Top 10, as did her 2020 greatest hits LP, ‘Songs From The Kitchen Disco’.
In a review of the album, RETROPOP called ‘HANA’ “an album that encompasses themes of reflections and new beginnings across 12 original songs that drive Sophie’s sound forward”.
