There’ll be Murder on the Dancefloor this Halloween – Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s back with another Kitchen Disco!
After dominating Fridays evenings during the early lockdown weeks with her Instagram Live series, Sophie continued the theme with her new best-of collection, Songs from the Kitchen Disco, and subsequent tour.
While the Kitchen Discos have been on hold over the last few months, the Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer) hitmaker is returning with a suitably spooky one-off show for Halloween.
She revealed on BBC Newsnight: “I think for me it’s more of a coping mechanism and it lightened our moods to do these discos on a Friday night.
“It put all of us into a really happy place. It was a catharsis, as well as something alleviate the mood,” Sophie explained. “I’m gonna do one for Halloween. We just like it, it’s how our family deals in times of stress.”

The show will no doubt be a treat filled with more gloriously camp cover versions – we’d love to hear Sophie tackle Steps’ Scared of the Dark, Cher’s Dark Lady and Bananarama’s A Trick of the Night!
