Soft Cell will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic hit Tainted Love with a three-track 10” vinyl reissue.
Marc Almond and Dave Ball shot to the top of the charts in 1981 with their electronic cover of the Gloria Jones track, which appeared as the lead single on their debut album ‘Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret’.
And to celebrate four decades of the iconic track, the pair are reissuing the single on vinyl with a new, five-minute edit of the track from Ball, which uses previously-unheard studio parts from the original recording sessions.
As well as the new extended version, the release will feature 2021 remastered versions of the original 7” coupled with its original B-side Where Did Our Love Go.
The limited-edition pink 10” vinyl comes with a rare version of its original sleeve design, plus four postcards of classic Soft Cell images. It’s available to pre-order now.
Soft Cell reunited in 2018 and are set to release brand new material – their first in almost 20 years – later in 2021.
