Sinéad O’Connor has vowed never to perform live again following her son’s tragic death.

The singer’s 17-year-old boy Shane tragically passed away in January, after he went missing from the hospital while he was under suicide watch.

After receiving the heartbreaking news, Sinéad said she will “never forgive” the Irish state for their treatment of Shane and, taking to social media on Sunday, February 13, she shared another update with fans.

Just to say, suggestions there’ll be any performances this year or next year or ever again are erroneous. There will never be anything to sing about again. #DropsMikehttps://t.co/7YW8RbXNhx

The Nothing Compares 2 U hitmaker wrote: “Just to say, suggestions there’ll be any performances this year or next year or ever again are erroneous.

“There will never be anything to sing about again.”

Sinéad ended her post by writing, “#DropsMike. [sic]”

The singer had been due to release a new studio album, ‘No Veteran Dies Alone’, this year, however it’s unclear whether the album has been shelved in the wake of her personal news.

Sinéad shared the news of her son’s death on social media last month, penning: “My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.

“May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace.”
