Duran Duran to fame back in 1981 with their self-titled debut album, featuring the UK Top 5 hit Girls on Film.

Celebrating 40 years of music, the Rio hitmakers will be the subject of a number of new programmes, including a SiriusXM radio show hosted by frontman Simon Le Bon and a Pandora playlist.

The singer’s show, WHOOOSH!, debuted Wednesday, January 27th on SiriusXM’s Volume channel, and sees the star joined by longtime associate Katy Krassner.

In each episode, inspired by the series that appeared on the Duran Duran website site during lockdown, the pair will discuss new music that excites them.

New instalments of WHOOOSH! will go on to form a podcast series, available on-demand.

Elsewhere, Duran 40 is an exclusive playlist on Pandora, featuring the band’s biggest hits and fan favorites, along with with commentary from the group and special guests.

Merging music and talk, Duran 40 kicks off on January 28th, with Mark Ronson and Nile Rodgers set to appear alongside host Claudia Winkleman.

Broadcast versions will also air on SiriusXM’s Volume and First Wave.

“It all began as a lockdown thing,” says Le Bon of his WHOOOSH! show. “It dawned on me that the only music I was listening to was what I was working on, and the stuff that got me into a band in the first place.

“So I switched on my ears, and went on a trip down a sonic rabbit hole. What a revelation — there is so much great new talent, so much music out there…. And so a radio show is born.”

Duran Duran are expected to return in 2021 with their 15th studio album – the group’s first since 2015’s Paper Gods – along with a number of planned live shows across the UK and Europe over the Summer.

The group recently dropped a tribute cover of David Bowie’s Five Years and will release the official music video on January 28 at 5 pm GMT.

Ahead of the premiere, keyboardist Nick Rhodes will take to the Duran Duran Instagram Live page to answer questions from fans, while bassist John Taylor will also host a Q&A on the group’s YouTube channel.
