Texas are preparing for the release of their 10th album, Hi, later this year, and lead singer Sharleen Spiteri is keeping booked and busy with a new presenting gig on Virgin Radio.
The Black Eyed Boy hitmaker will join the network alongside Gaby Roslin and McFly star Tom Fletcher’s wife Giovanna, while regular host Kate Lawler is on maternity leave.
The new hosts will alternate their appearances over a six-week period; author Giovanna will be covering Kate’s show from March 1 to 12, with Sharleen in the hot seat for a two-week tour between March 15 and 26.
TV presenter Gaby will be taking over the reins in April.
“Kate’s a great broadcaster, so I hope to do her show justice,” said Sharleen of landing the role. “I’m excited to get my own stint behind the microphone whilst also keeping her seat warm.

“We all need a little hope right now, and I will try to do just that when sitting in for Kate – it’s going to be fun.”
Texas returned in January with Hi, the lead single from their forthcoming album of the same name.
According to a press release, Texas’ record – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Jump on Board’ – is packed with “pure Texas gold… easily rivalling the best music of their stellar career”.
A release date has yet to be confirmed.
