Shania Twain reached out to Taylor Swift after the singer smashed her longstanding US country chart record.
The Red hitmaker surpassed Shania’s 97 weeks atop the Billboard Country Albums, making Taylor the female artist with the most weeks at No. 1.
Responding to the achievement, Shania penned a message to the singer-songwriter, highlighting the “hurdles” women have to go through in the music industry.
Let’s Go Girls!!!! Proud of you @taylorswift13. Historical records are meant to be made and then broken. The baton is meant to be passed on to new generations. Unstoppable young female country artists are 🔥 inspite of the hurdles ✊ #trailblazers https://t.co/SZORYzSay6
