Shania Twain has released Giddy Up! as the second single from her forthcoming sixth album ‘Queen of Me’.

The track follows lead release Waking Up Dreaming, with the country pop star comparing the tune to her iconic hit Man! I Feel Like a Woman.

“The saying ‘Let’s go, girls!’ is such a wonderfully uplifting sentiment now, but it’s just something I said during the recording in the studio and I guess that’s the same for Giddy Up!,” she says (via The Sun).

“These lines come to me when I’m thinking about how to put a little pep in my step.

“I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone, and Giddy Up! is a way to call to the audience and say. ‘Let’s get ready for some fun!’ ”

Alongside the track, Shania will debut a Dance Video for the song at 5 am GMT on Thursday, January 6.

The Life’s About To Get Good hitmaker recently shared the tracklist for her 12-song set, writing: “For me, the track order is as important as the music itself. Just like the music, it takes you on a journey and it’s gotta be just right!”

Referencing Giddy Up!, she added: “And as a homage to my roots… I had to add a little punctuation in there.”

‘Queen of Me’ is described as “the superstar’s most triumphant-feeling body of work; an album about standing in your own power and worshipping yourself,” with Shania sharing her own thoughts on the record.

“These days, I’m feeling very comfortable in my own skin – and I think this album reflects that musically,” penned the singer-songwriter. “Life is short and I want to be uplifted, colorful, unapologetic and empowered. I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!

“I want to celebrate this new chapter with you all on my tour! Vegas has been a dream, but I’m ready to be on the road and sing with you, dance with you and have a kick ass night out with you! This one’s gonna be a big party – no inhibitions, no conditions, let’s get a little out of line!!

“I’ll be Queen Of Me – you be Queen of YOU!”

In support of the album, which also features Not Just a Girl and the new track Last Day of Summer, co-written with Jack Savoretti, Shania will embark on a world tour.

The ‘Queen of Me Tour’ kicks off in April with a North American leg running through July, before hitting the UK and Ireland in September with shows across the country.

Additionally, Shania and Live Nation have announced that £/€1.50 per ticket sold (less deductions for tax and royalties) will be donated to Shania Kids Can, which provides services that promote positive change in children’s lives in times of crises and economic hardship.

‘Queen of Me’, which features 12 songs in total, comes out February 3 and is available to pre-order now. Tickets for the ‘Queen of Me Tour’ are on general sale now.
