Shania Twain is reportedly set to hit the road with a massive UK tour in support of her forthcoming album.
The country-pop superstar has spent the past few years playing her ‘Let’s Go!’ residency show in Las Vegas, but according to sources is planning to hit the road alongside her brand new LP.
“The tour is going to be massive. After 30 years, Shania is still one of the best performers around and she puts everything into her live shows,” insiders tell The Sun’s Bizarre column.
“She has had stellar reviews this year of her Las Vegas residency but this tour will be a new hit-packed concert with new songs mixed in.
“Fans can expect an announcement in the next few weeks.
“Shania has spent the last few years hunkered down in the studio working on a follow-up to 2017’s ‘Now’ and it is ready to go, so it won’t be long until there’s new music out there.”
According to the publication, the tour will include multiple nights at London’s The O2 arena as well as shows in Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham, marking her first UK performances in five years.
The Honey I’m Home star recently teased new material in her Netflix documentary film ‘Not Just A Girl’, which saw her in the studio in London finishing work on tracks for the project.
“I am here in London finishing my album – and getting with some great UK talent and creatives,” she teases, before offering a look into studio sessions with producer Mark Ralph.
In addition to her latest release Not Just A Girl, Shania has worked with the songwriter and producer on further tracks for the project, two of which she previewed in the film.
‘I’m not a girl / I’m not a boy / I’m not a baby / I’m not a toy / I’m a queen’, she sings on one number, on which she declares herself the ‘queen of me’.
“It’s uplifting. It’s still a lot of female point of view,” she adds of the new material. “I’m more swinging back into the space of, I don’t even want to say ‘female empowerment’, but self-empowerment.
“I mean, I’m a woman but I’m just feeling very good in my own skin and less apologetic than ever. I’m good, you know. Unless something else knocks me down along the way, but like I always do I think I’ll just get back up again.”
A release date for Shania’s sixth studio album has yet to be confirmed. ‘Not Just A Girl’ is streaming on Netflix now.
