Shania Twain has written “a mountain of songs” during lockdown.
The I’m Gonna Getcha Good! hitmaker tells ABC’s Live With Kelly and Ryan she’s been hard at work on the follow-up to her 2017 album Now during the pandemic and now has “enough music for three albums”.
“I mean, I’ve got a mountain of songs now,” she smiles. “You know, Covid has lasted so much longer than any of us expected, so I have enough music for three albums now.”
According to the star, writing has been a constant in what’s been an otherwise unpredictable year. “I just keep writing and writing and writing and writing. Yeah, it’s good. I have been very productive, yeah,” she adds.
In addition to creating new tunes, she’s also anticipating her return to Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater to finish her Las Vegas residency – but admits she’s unsure when she’ll be able to resume performing.
“Well, I’m waiting to get back to Vegas onstage at Zappos. I’ve been waiting like everybody else for the ‘okay’ to get back in the room, you know?” she shrugs. “So, I’m on standby, and writing music.”
News of new music comes as Shania celebrates her second album, The Woman In Me, with a deluxe Diamond Edition re-release. Get yours on on CD and vinyl now.
