Shania Twain’s become a regular on the Las Vegas strip, with the country-pop superstar performing two hit residency shows over the past decade.
In a new interview, the Up! singer opens up on her latest show, ‘Let’s Go!’, which kicked off in December, 2019 but soon ground to a halt amid the pandemic.
Speaking on her Home Now Radio on Apple Music radio show, Shania reveals she was inspired by Britney Spears’ ‘Piece of Me’ residency – which ran from 2013 to 2017 at Zappos Theater – to stage her latest show at the venue.
“Hit me baby one more time. Oh yeah. Britney Spears. I don’t sound like her, but I sing along to her records,” gushes the I’m Gonna Getcha Good! singer.
“Britney Spears is another residency artist in Las Vegas that I have seen a few times. And she was initially in Zappos theater where I ended up myself and I loved the room.
“I thought her show was great and I was motivated to get on that same stage, so her show inspired me a lot. It was a fantastic show.”
Shania adds: “I actually co-wrote a song for her years ago in 2001, it was for the album ‘Oops I Did It Again’. And the song was called, Don’t Let Me Be The Last to Know. “

“You know, Covid has lasted so much longer than any of us expected, so I have enough music for three albums now.”
