Having conquered the UK with their 25th anniversary reunion tour, S Club fancy their Eurovision chances.
The group have already found success across the continent and say it would be “amazing” to take to the biggest stage in music.
Speaking to The Sun at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball, when asked about participating Tina Barrett said: “Well you know the sky’s the limit.”
Jon Lee added, “It would be amazing. I don’t think it can get much camper than this!,” while pointing to his sequin outfit.
“And Eurovision would be amazing,” he said.
However, Jo O’Meara was more sceptical, admitting: “I don’t think I’ll have the bottle.”
In addition to the US leg of their ‘Good Times Tour’ in February, the band has big plans for 2024, with Jon revealing: “We’ll definitely do some new music, we’re going to concentrate mainly on doing some live shows next year so maybe like the Isle of Wight Festival and a few things like that.
“Maybe a few more international tours and stuff so lots happening.”
Bradley McIntosh continued: “Main thing is to take away from it, it is that we aren’t going anywhere. We’re sticking around for longer than you think.”
Appearing on the cover of RETROPOP’s October issue, S Club opened up about their return to recording and shared how the process has changed over the past two decades, with producer John Nathaniel dialling in from Canada.
“We had him on Zoom while we were in the booth, giving us notes,” said Bradley. “But he was controlling the whole set from Canada, which was very new to us.”
These Are The Days was the first song the band was presented with while selecting a comeback track, with Jo speculating there may be more where that came from.
“I’m not sure how many different songs were in the mix, so who knows what other songs there are gonna be in the future – I’m sure there’ll be a few knocking around that will be interesting to have a go at,” she hinted.
