Released: April 1
Roxy Music’s first two albums have been freshly remastered for a pair of vinyl reissues celebrating the group’s 50th anniversary.
Originally released in 1972 and 1973, respectively, ‘Roxy Music’ and ‘For Your Pleasure’ helped introduce the group to the world and catapulted them into the global charts.
Bryan Ferry’s lyrical evocations of romance and glamour, pop-art references and allusions to both old Hollywood and future shock sci-fi are standout and, paired with Brian Eno’s other-worldly synth sounds and tape loop effects, cement both albums as modern classics.
In honour of their latest milestone, both records have been given fresh, Half-Speed cuts by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in London, bringing the music to life with more nuance than ever before.
To reflect the enhanced audio, the album artwork has been similarly revised with lyrics and a deluxe gloss laminated finish.
In 2022, it’s refreshing to see the band being celebrated with such care and attention to detail.
‘Self Titled’ & ‘For Your Pleasure’ are out now.
