You’ll probably recognise Róisín Murphy from her three decades riding high in the charts – but don’t be surprised if you see her down your local pub too…
The Something More hitmaker has teamed up with The Gun venue in Hackney, London to contribute to a charity LP helping to raise funds for the struggling boozer during lockdown.
According to organisers, the record features an “eclectic bunch of oddballs, just like our regulars,” with a “techno, house, dub, EBM or industrial” sound.
Alongside Róisin, Daniel Avery, Nitzer Ebb, GLOK and The 2 Bears’ Raf Rundell also star on the collection.
There’s also the first ever track from Mister Deltoid – the brand new project by Nathan Gregory Wilkins & Paranoid London’s Quinn Whalley – plus a number of other collaboration ventures.
“The Gun isn’t just a music venue, it’s very much a community pub,” say organisers.
“As such, proceeds from this project will be split between keeping the pub afloat, and to be donated to local families via charity Hackney Quest.”
