Robbie Williams is “looking forward” to premiering his mash-up of his song Angels and the music of Ludwig van Beethoven.
The singer planned to debut the track, which merges his 1997 hit Angels with Beethoven’s Unfinished 10th Symphony, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 28.
However, amid “the current political situation” the performance was cancelled and will now be taking place at a later date.
“Angels obviously has a very special place in my heart”, Robbie said of the project in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to the preview of this interesting version. For me, it’s fascinating how much technology is now enabling art.”
Claudia Nemat from Deutsche Telekom added: “We’re particularly excited to explore the possibilities of AI and creativity together with Robbie Williams on one of the best songs in pop history.”
Robbie recently released his latest single Sway via dance group Lufthaus.
Alongside long-time producers Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis, the singer hit the studio to record the upbeat tune, which dropped this week.
While the band has not revealed its members, Robbie’s voice stands out on the track, which was released on digital platforms.
