Robbie Williams would love to play Glastonbury again.
The Candy singer last performed at the Worthy Farm event in 1998, but is keen to make a return 25 years later during the Sunday afternoon Legends slot.
Speaking on the ‘Robbie Williams Rewind‘ podcast, he said: “I’ve not been asked yet. I know I’d slaughter it. It’s one of those times and places, and a reimagination of what Robbie Williams is.
“When you do Glastonbury, perception changes more than any other festival. Diana Ross could play any festival and not get any traction, but she plays Glastonbury and everybody is talking about it, like Barry Gibb.
“A lot of people there have an oblique perception of what I am. But if they saw me do it, I would take their heads off.
“I look forward to doing it if I get the opportunity.”
Robbie recently performed two special shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, featuring a mixture of swing classics and some of his biggest hits, with the concerts filmed for a major scene in the upcoming film, ‘Better Man’.
They’ll feature in the movie of his life during a scene portraying Robbie’s triumphant ‘Live At The Albert’ show in 2001.
Written, produced and directed by Michael Gracey, the project will give fans an introspective look into the experiences that shaped Robbie Williams both on and off stage.
Filming commenced this year in Melbourne with Robbie travelling Down Under recently to shoot scenes and now the cameras are heading to the UK.
This summer, he will play the first-ever large-scale live music event at the Royal Estate of Sandringham on August 26, 2023, with a second date added due to phenomenal demand on August 27.
They will be his only outdoor headline concerts in the UK for 2023.
Tickets are on general sale now.
