Rihanna is switching up her sound for her long-awaited ninth album.
It’s been five years since the hitmaker dropped her latest effort ‘Anti’ and she’s teased her new music is “going to be completely different” to her work so far.
Speaking with Associated Press at her latest Savage X Fenty lingerie show, Rihanna insisted: “You’re not going to expect what you hear…
“Just put that in your mind. Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting, and music is like fashion, you should be able to play.
“I should be able to wear whatever I want and I treat music the same way. I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”
‘Anti’ was Rihanna’s seventh consecutive UK Top 10 album and spawned the UK No. 2 hit Work featuring Drake.
She’s currently got nine UK No. 1 singles under her belt, including What’s My Name?, We Found Love and Diamonds – the second-most in chart history for a female solo artist, behind Madonna at 13.
