Kylie Minogue, The Go-Go’s, and Five Star are among the classic pop acts who joined in the social media #BlackoutTuesday protest following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota last week.

Following the tragic death of the African-American man at the hands of police officers, protests were staged over the weekend to demand an end to police brutality and racial prejudice across the country.

Peaceful protests also took place in the UK and worldwide and, on Tuesday, the music industry vowed to go silent in honour of his memory.

The #BlackoutTuesday campaign has been billed as “a day to disconnect from work and reconnect with our community,” the campaign, promoted with the hashtag #TheShowMustBePaused.

Here are just some of the stars taking part in the initiative.
