Phil Collins has rounded out his career with Genesis with one final show at London’s The O2. 

The group – also starring Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks – took the stage on Saturday, March 26 for the final show on their farewell ‘The Last Domino?’ tour.

During the concert, the musician, quipped about needing to “get a real job now,” after making the decision to wind down his performing career due to ongoing health issues. 

During the concerts, the drummer was forced to hand over sticksman duties and performed the majority of his vocals from a chair. 

Following the concert, the In The Air Tonight hitmaker’s daughter, actress Lily Collins, thanked her father and his bandmates for a “lifetime of memories” in a reflective Instagram post. 

Alongside a series of backstage snaps, she penned: “Tonite marks the end of an era. To have witnessed this last show was truly the memory of a lifetime and an event I shall hold in my heart forever. Endlessly grateful doesn’t begin to do it justice. 

“So much love was left on that O2 stage and an even bigger amount shared between an audience who didn’t want it to end.” 

She added: “Thank you @genesis_band for the memories, thank you dad for being such an inspiration and thank you @nic_collins for making me the proudest sister there is. 

“50 years of songs later and still generations more to celebrate you long after this tour has finished… [sic]”

Phil’s health issued began when he injured a vertebrae in his upper neck while performing in 2009, resulting in him stepping away from the spotlight two years later due to crippling nerve damage.

However, he later returned in 2015 and, ahead of the band’s latest gigs, said: “I’m kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there with my son.”
