Aussie dance-pop star Peter Wilson is celebrating three decades in pop with his brand new single, Imagine That.
Written by Michael Jay (Martika, Kylie Minogue), the track arrives on March 7, 2024 – 30 years to the day since he released his debut track, I Wanna Dance, in 1994.
It’s the first taste of his forthcoming album, ‘Touch’ – the follow-up to 2022’s ‘The Great Unknown’ – due next year.
Most recently, Peter released his remix compilation ‘Time Machine Vol. 1’ and a pair of EPs, ‘Saw The Signs’ and ‘We Are The Night’.
Speaking to RETROPOP last year, Peter reflected on his beginnings in the music industry, revealing how attending Camberwell High School in Victoria, Australia at the same time as Kylie and Dannii Minogue gave him the confidence to pursue his dream.
“Dannii was one year above me and Kylie was in the final year of high school when I was in the first,” he shared. “Dannii was on the TV, she was on ‘Young Talent Time’ while we were all at school, and I would see her every day.
“Kylie was really nice to me at school and then, when she went on to do ‘Neighbours’ and work with Stock Aitken Waterman, I remember thinking, ‘I wanna be like that. I want to do that.’
“I guess because they were at school and I was standing next to them in the canteen everyday, it was like it was accessible. If they are standing next to me, that means I can do the same thing.”
