The Pet Shop Boys are releasing their classic Discovery: Live In Rio 1994 show on DVD and CD for the first time.
Recorded following the release of their albums Very and Disco 2, the concert showcases a more uptempo side of Pet Shop Boys’ catalogue, featuring classic hits and fan favourites.
West End Girls, Suburbia, Being Boring, Go West, Rent and Always on my Mind feature, along with mash-ups of PSB tunes and cover versions, including Mr Vain, Rhythm of the Night and I Will Survive.
Discovery was shot during the duo’s first visit to Brazil and was directed by Brazilian filmmaker Roberto Berliner with a local TV crew in December, 1994. The show was previously only available on VHS in 1995.

“Previously only available on VHS, this is the first time that fans will be able to experience this classic concert on DVD/CD.
““Discovery” was shot in 1994 as standard definition (SD) on tape,” they added.
“To keep the integrity of the original the decision was made to restore and present the concert in its native SD format on DVD, rather than upscaling to HD for Blu-ray.”
The Left To My Own Devices hitmakers have been enjoying some downtime during lockdown, but have assured they’ll be back on stage as soon as possible with a gig at Electric Ballroom in Camden planned as part of the Passport: Back To Our Roots initiative
