Oasis have topped the UK Albums Chart for the first time in 15 years following the launch of the band’s long-awaited reunion tour.
The group – fronted by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher – took to the stage together for the first time in 16 years at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on July 4, with tens of thousands of fans showing up for the occasion.
It marked the first in a 41-date global run for the Champagne Supernova hitmakers and has impacted the charts in their home country, with ‘Time Flies… 1994-2009’ returning to the top spot for the first time since its 2010 release.
It’s one of three LPs from Oasis to appear in the Top 5, with their iconic 1995 record, ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, coming in at No. 2, and their seminal 1994 debut, ‘Definitely Maybe’, jumping up to No. 4.
Additionally, the group has three tracks in the Top 20 of the Singles Chart, with Acquiesce – the original B-side to their 1995 No. 1 hit Some Might Say – reaching a peak of No. 17.
In at No. 18 is the 1996 chart-topper Don’t Look Back In Anger, while 1994 Top 10 hit Live Forever is also at No. 19.
