The title of Noel Gallagher’s new album is a tribute to his upbringing on a Manchester council estate.
The former Oasis star will release his new High Flying Birds album, ‘Council Skies’, in May and the record features artwork depicting the former home of his beloved Manchester City football team (via The Sun).
It’s nostalgic for the musician, who used to visit Maine Road in Moss Side to watch games as a kid.
Noel recently unveiled his latest track Pretty Boy, which features former The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and serves as the lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album.
“For this new record it was the first thing I wrote, the first thing I demoed and the first thing I finished, so it’s only right that it’s the first thing people get to hear,” he said of the release.
“Massive shout out to my mainest man Johnny Marr for taking it somewhere special. Oh… and watch out for a cameo from me in the video… first one to spot me wins a bag of Flamin’ Hot Wotsits Giants!”
