Nile Rodgers proved age is just a number as he rounded out his birthday weekend with a roller-disco party at London’s Ministry of Sound nightclub. 

The disco legend, who turned 69 on Sunday, didn’t let his big day go unnoticed, as he hit the town at one of the capital’s hottest venues – hours after performing a headline show at Alexandra Head in Cardiff. 

During the show, he was serenaded by thousands of adoring fans in the crowd, and the musician took to social media to share his gratitude.

“Thank you, Cardiff,” he penned. “I was blown away with the love and the amount of times you sang Happy Birthday to me. It was truly a special night.”

That wasn’t the end of the Chic star’s celebrations, as he headed back to London where his team went all out with a roller disco bash for the Le Freak hitmaker. 

However, it was all a surprise for Nile – who was led to believe he had to return to London for a business meeting. 

Sources tell The Sun: “Having not been able to play live for so long, Nile has been having a blast performing again and his team have been blown away by his spirit.

“They really pulled out all the stops for his birthday and had a whole funfair for him in Cardiff then a roller-disco when he got back to London.

“Mistajam came and DJ’d at the party and everyone got to skate around to his favourite disco songs. It was a night to remember.

“Not many 69 year olds can party as hard as Nile.”

Earlier this year, Nile opened his own roller-disco, dubbed The DiscOasis, at the iconic South Coast Botanic Garden in Los Angeles.
