Lady Gaga has written and recorded a new song, Dead Dance, for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’.
The Abracadabra hitmaker is confirmed to guest star in the show as Rosaline Rotwood, a Nevermore Academy teacher whose mysterious past is linked with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams.
But it’s not just an acting gig for the Academy Award-winner, who has contributed the brand-new track to the show’s soundtrack, according to Variety.
Co-written with her Mayhem collaborators Andrew Watt and Cirkut, the single is expected to be released in the coming weeks, with a music video apparently directed by Tim Burton.
Last week, when speaking at the Giffoni Film Festival, Burton hinted at his further collaboration with Gaga, admitting (via FarOut): “Honestly, she’s an amazing artist, and I just worked with her on ‘Wednesday’ a little bit.
“And I’ve done something else with her.”
Continuing to praise Gaga, he added: “Just for me, it’s exciting to work with an artist that I respect and admire. I’m not a musician, I’m not a music person, but she’s a real artist, and that was very inspiring to me.”
