Netflix has released the first trailer for the forthcoming Robbie Williams documentary series.
The eponymous four-part documentary “goes behind the eyes of the biggest UK solo artist of all time”, according to Netflix, with the show expected to debut on the platform this autumn.
Collecting over 30 years of unseen archive footage, the new teaser shows Robbie reduced to tears in the throwback clip shot backstage at one of his gigs.
The cameraman can be heard asking, “You all ready, Rob?”, with the singer looking down the lens and shaking his head: “Nah, I really wish I did something else for a living.”
He then tells one of his children: “You will get to watch the documentary when you’re much older.”
Sharing the video online, Robbie said: “The new four-part documentary series, including 30 years of unseen footage. ROBBIE WILLIAMS – coming soon on Netflix…”
From his tenure with Take That to his chart-topping solo legacy, the project will see “Robbie navigating media scrutiny throughout his career, adulation and addiction, professional and personal break-ups, reunions, recovery, and the impact they have had on his mental health”.
The series is directed by Joe Pearlman. A release date has yet to be confirmed.
