Natalie Imbruglia is gearing up to release her first album of original material in 12 years.
The singer last effort ‘Come to Life’ dropped back in 2009 and, although Natalie returned in 2015 with ‘Male’ – featuring the singer covering tracks made famous by male-led acts – she’s now preparing to unleash a collection of new material.
Writing on Instagram, she said: “Sorry I haven’t posted in a while… I’ve been busy behind the scenes getting ready for new music to drop. Shooting a video, working on artwork… it’s a beautiful thing! #notlongnow”.
Natalie announced she had signed a new record deal with BMG in 2019 and was writing songs for a new album.
While details are being kept under wraps, she tagged songwriter Rachel Furner in her post, whose credits include Little Mix, Craig David and Steps. Other producers linked to the record include Ash Howes, known for his work with Kylie Minogue, and Alanis Morissette collaborator Catherine Marks.
Natalie debuted on the music scene back in 1997 with her massive international hit Torn, and scored similar success with tracks like Big Mistake and Smoke.
Alongside five studio album, her best-of collection ‘Glorious: The Singles 97–07’ was a UK Top 5 hit.
