Coldplay were joined by Natalie Imbruglia during the latest London stop of their ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour.
The group invited the Aussie star on stage at Wembley stadium for a performance of her mega-hit single Torn, before paying tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John with a rendition of the ‘Grease’ classic Summer Nights.
For the performance, Natalie took on the vocals originally performed by Olivia’s character Sandy, while frontman Chris Martin did John Travolta’s Danny’s part.
Olivia passed away on August 8 following a battle with breast cancer, with Natalie sharing in a tribute on social media: “Devastated to hear of the passing of Olivia Newton John.
“When I was a little girl I used to close my eyes and sing her songs and dream of one day being on a stage somewhere, singing, just like her. She was magic. A huge inspiration to me and so many other young kids who where singing into their hairbrush.
“The purity of her voice, her grace…and she sang from the heart. She was and always will be a shining light in this world.”
It comes after the group was recently joined by garage legend Craig David for the opening two shows of the London dates.
Coldplay will play six dates at the London venue, with additional shows on August 20 and 21.
