Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle is determined to “make something happen” to mark the group’s 20th anniversary in 2022.
The Call The Shots group shot to fame after winning ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ back in 2002, and went on to release five albums and score a record 20 consecutive Top 10 singles.
Ahead of the milestone, Nadine tells HELLO! magazine the group – also staring Sarah Harding, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – has yet to cement any plans, but insists they’ll do something for the occasion.
“I’m excited about the anniversary,” she shared. “If it feels right, I’m sure we’ll make something happen.”
It was previously reported that the group was planning to reunite, but plans had been put on hold following Sarah’s breast cancer diagnosis.
Of her pal’s shock health scare, Nadine admitted: “It’s made me realise how much I’ve put things off and taken for granted. I’ll never do that again.
“Sarah’s always in my prayers. I’m sending her all the positivity I can.”
Next month (March 20), Sarah will release her autobiography, ‘Hear Me Out’, and Nadine can’t wait to relive the “fun” the girls enjoyed together in their heyday.
“We had so much fun in Girls Aloud,” smiled the Insatiable star. “Many of the stories of our wild times together are in her book.”
Her comments about the band’s anniversary Kimberley previously suggested 2022 would be a great time for the group to perform together again.
She told ‘The One Show‘ last year: “It’s 20 years in 2022 so we’re feeling a bit of outside pressure now
“People keep asking if we’re making any plans and we actually haven’t made any yet, but we’re definitely feeling a bit of pressure from the outside so you never know.”
